There are not many countries in Europe that generate more spectacular imagery than Slovakia with its national parks. No wonder! This little country has nine of them. The mythological mountains of High Tatras surely rank amongst the most iconic sceneries in Europe. This tour showcases the very best of the top four national parks – each of them embracing its unique natural landscape. Imagine green pastures, deep forests, canyons with wild rivers, crystal clear lakes to rocky hills and majestic snow-capped peaks, all waiting to be explored. Slovakia’s got 17 peaks reaching the heights over 2500 meters above sea level! And even more is hidden under the ground – a rare complex of ice and karst caves many of which are still not discovered. Slovak nature is also the home of bears, wolves, lynxes, foxes, deers and hundreds of other animals you can possibly spot on your unforgettable journey with TIME FOR SLOVAKIA.
We start this tour in the completely preserved mining town of Banská Štiavnica, which is in its entirety inscribed to UNESCO World Heritage List. The hikers love this town because it is surrounded by beautiful scenery of volcanic hills and dozens of mining lakes which were created for the needs of the gold and silver mining industry. The nature here is just amazing. Not far away from this town is a National Park of Great Fatra. We will visit the hills with lush meadows and fantastic panoramic views. No hiking tour in Slovakia would be complete without a visit of the National Park of the High Tatras and National Park of Low Tatras. You will have a chance to see a unique cave with a dripstone decorations and glacial lakes in the heart of the mountains. Our tour ends in the National Park of Little Fatra. All this is yours in just 4 days!
